According to numerous reports, including Jacksonville.com, Nick Largen, formerly of Whole Wheat Bread, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for armed robbery.
While the last update about the incident acknowledged that he was facing "several years" this is the first confirmation of a sentence for the bass player. Largen had been arrested in Amherst, NY on charges of first degree robbery, but his bandmates opted to continue on with C.J. Randolph (aka Johnny Rock) of Atlanta-based El Pus, taking over bass duties. The trio released Minority Rules in 2005 followed by the Punk Life EP earlier this week. The original lineup was also the subject of one of the very first video interviews hosted on Punknews.org. The band is currently on the road as part of the Gold Tour, with the Bouncing Souls and the Street Dogs. Fighting Records (126 comments)

i just saw these guys in seattle with the souls a couple weeks ago. they came out and looked like thugs and i expected it was gonna be some kind of militant rap group, and then they are like "what's up mother fuckers!?!?!" like thugs and shit. then they start playing and it sounds 90% like mxpx. it blew my mind. they put on a pretty good show, other than the "when i say 'whole wheat', you say 'bread' " thing. so obviously i was wrong and have learned once again that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but rather by its third appendix and/or epilogue.

Keep in mind, he robbed a gas station with a BB gun. I'm guessing he has priors, thus the harsher sentence. 8+ Replies

I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoy them. This really sucks because when he'd sing, his eyes would bulge out like eight inches out of their sockets. 1+ Reply

Well, robbing a gas station with a BB gun is fucking stupid, but 7 years is a little much...I'm sure prior arrests have a lot to do with the sentence, but damn, 7 years? 2+ Replies

saw these guys over the summer. they sucked. sound like wanna-be punk rock circa 1996. uninspired and cliche'd...except for the black thing. of course they freestyle rap'd for a song or two, as well. 3+ Replies

It sounds like good old fashioned skate punk. Yeah, I believed all the Black-182 until I saw them live. If punk rock really is about playing and talking about what you know then these guys are punk rock.

Spending seven years in jail is just another gimmick to boost his street cred.

I'm not impressed with this band at all. They have the whole dumbass thug image going on to appeal to the middle America white boys who wish they were though crap.

It is UNBELIEVABLE to me that a "Punk" news/message board would be a place where people would post racist comments disguised as cute and clever quips. Really fucking pathetic. 7+ Replies

I saw these guys in LA last Friday and they played a pretty cool show, I wasn't expecting the cover of Maxwell Murder (which was alright, points off for not pulling off the solo), but what really bothered me about the performence was the audience. When they played their rap(ish) song I looked around the room and found tons of white kids bopping their heads (not head banging). It was embarresing.
