The Forgotten sign with TKO

TKO Records has signed San Jose street punk act the Forgotten. The band will head into the studio soon for an early 2007 release. They'll be recording with veteran engineer Jerry Adamo (U.S. Bombs, the Stitches) and TKO house producer Ron Martinez (Lower Class Brats, Clit 45, Krum Bums).

The band was previously part of the TKO roster, releasing Keep The Corpses Quiet in 2000 prior to signing with BYO. The band followed up Corpses with Control Me in 2002 and the singles collection Out Of Print the year later. Members of the group have in recent years performed with Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards, with former guitarist Craig Fairbaugh going on to work with the Mercy Killers, the Transplants and Plus 44.

I do love these guys. Keep the Corpse Quite is still more played than Control Me but I love em both.
It should also be mentioned that they have a member in The Cliftons. And they are also teh punk.

It seriously is. I love that album but it's been six years since they've done anything new that's worth while. Control Me kind of sucked outside of one or two songs. Hopefully Gordy can pull it all together again.

Yeah Control Me was boring in comparison. I rated it fairly high at the time but I haven't listened to it in years. The band just needs to concentrate on being fast, angry and awesome... dump the Clash influence as it really doesn't suit them.

I like them both on different levels but Keep the Corpses Quiet is better on many levels.
I should go see them locally (they hang out at the ussual down town bars) and be all, "Adam from Punk News says drop The Clash influence. DO IT!!"
Then throw down a smoke bomb and vanish. Yeah that's a good plan.

OK, and this is a promise. Never will I claim hometown cred unless it is truly deserved, and I am from Los Gatos and when I was 14 saw these guys play at radio free records in campbell (now closed I'm sure. In the same plaza as Papa Murphy's on Union). I took my first sip of a forty with the punk crew who went to Leigh and was scared out my mind. So yeah, best show ever.

the forgotten are probably my 2nd favourite band. Keep the Corpses Quiet is such an awesome record, as well as VENI VIDI VICI. awesome live as well. i'm excited for this.
