Fat Wreck Chords plans on releasing a three-disc box set sometime in the new year focusing on bands the label has worked with. While the line-up of of bands contributing has yet to be finalized, it is expected to contain one disc of studio material, one disc of live songs, with the final disc being made up of alternate takes or demos. Expect it in the later half of 2007.

three discs hardly makes enough for a box set...but still, like em or hate em, Fat does have some decent bands and have HAD quite a few decent bands in the past too. I have no doubt this will be an amazing release.

sweet, this will be good, no where near as good as twenty years of dischord, but few things are.

Fat Wreck always provides quality music, I think I have purchased almost every single CD that they have released this year.
Someone (December 7, 2006)
There is probably going to be a shitload of songs, judging from the the way the comps are put together.....Most likely "Idiot Son Of An Asswhole" live or even the Decline.....who knows, but I'm sure it's going to be worth it....just maybe...and please No Ataris!!!
Someone (December 7, 2006)
Watch...one disk will be full of garbage from NOFX and the other two mostly comprised of shitty Anti-Fag and Propaghandi outtakes 1+ Reply

t is a great label, this seems like a way to get some extra cash, but if it's good I'll probably still get it.

The original recording of Lagwagon's Burn is far superior to the album version. Include that one for all the fanboys! 1+ Reply

not excited for this now, as it's too far away. but excitement will build quickly, as the date draws nearer. time flies when you waste 40 hours a week at 'work' looking at punknews.org.

Now there will be definative proof that all the Fat bands sounded alike that first decade!

If you're willing to spend a few bucks on a CD instead, I'd highly recommend Rhino Records' "Punk Rock Christmas" from 1995. This is my favorite Christmas album of all time. The Dickies, The Damned, Pansy Division, Ramones, The Frogs, Stiff Little Fingers...it's great. 1+ Reply

I think i know what the writer means by "focusing on bands the label has worked with", but you have to admit, it would be really strange if they released a box set focusing on bands they hadn't worked with. Strange, and probably illegal. | Features
