Clap Your Hands Say Yeah post tracks from forthcoming release

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have revealed some details about their next full length. The album is due out to retail on January 30th and titled Some Loud Thunder. The record follows up their acclaimed debut, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

The record will be released digitally on January 16th with those early purchasers receiving a physical copy shortly therafter. Two tracks from the album "Satan Said Dance" and "Underwater (You and Me)" are available on their myspace page.

I may not like this band but to rip off (and do so poorly) BTMI!, even if you don't like there music selling 50,000+ albums without a label is pretty cool.

I've heard "Satan Said Dance" twice now (once at Sasquatch and once at the Showbox in October) and it is a ridiculously good song. I'm hugely excited for this album.

can't get myspace to function properly here at work, but the two new songs i've heard ("love song no. 7" and "underwater (you and me)") are fantastic.

for some reason, i just wasn't expecting them to be able to deliver a follow-up to match their debut, but early indications definitely show promise.

I really like Satan Said Dance- nice beat, lots of Oneida-like blips
Unfortunately, the other two tracks really seem to be stereotypical "indie": a whiny singer that sounds vaguely like Jeff Magnum, jangly guitars, tambourine, etc.
"Love Song No. 7" is particularly insufferable

I agree that this band is way overhyped; they have some enjoyable songs, but they're nothing special
