Big D and the Kids Table have completed recording their new album Strictly Rude at Camp Street Studio in Cambridge, MA. Mighty Mighty Bosstones bassist Joe Gittleman is producing the 16 track full length, which is set to arrive in March or April.

We're done. We finished recording the new album, Strictly Rude, yesterday! There's no rest in sight yet for us. We leave today for Canada to meet up with Rancid for a few shows, and then when we get back, we'll be mixing the record.

Prior to the new record Big D will release a split EP with China's Brain Failure titled From Beijing To Boston. It's expected in early 2007 via Bad News Records.

This album is something that we’re extremely proud of. I was talking with Dave last night and we agreed that neither of us, as well as the other guys, have ever worked so hard, or put as much thought, effort, love and energy into any one thing in our lives.

Adam and Alex, the engineers that we worked with at Camp Street Studios, were amazing! They were able to get the sounds and ideas, especially the experimental ones onto tape and make it happen.

Joe Giddleman also put an insane amount of his time, energy, experience and ideas into this record. He flies back to California today and it's definitely going to be weird without him. Surprisingly he didn't want to come to Canada with us to sell merch or guitar tech. I don't know why.

This record will be coming out on a label called Side One Dummy. We’re very excited about having them on our team. Dave and I were also talking about that…our "team". We were thinking about how many good people help us out, whether it’s because they like us as people or just like our music…or both. When people that aren’t technically in our band help us out with artwork, photos, booking shows, making a record, merchandise, and everything else, it means the world to us.

We all really believe in this record and we cannot wait to play these new songs live! We’ll be throwing a few out there this weekend at the Rancid shows.

It’s time to pack my bag and snap out of studio mode and get back into touring mode.

Life is strange when all you know is music.
