A little off-topic, but pretty funny/scary anyway. Apparently, the Cleveland city councilman Nathaniel Martin is pushing for a law to fine people for wearing low riding pants. So much for freedom. And yet, somehow, red backwards baseball caps are still allowed.

I don't even know what to say about that. It is pretty funny though. I really can't see a police officer handing out tickets to just about every male and/or female in an entire city.

I think it's stupid & ugly when people where their pants down to their knees, but to pass a law out of it is a joke. Looks like there is such thing as the Fasion Police! 2+ Replies

what does this have to do with skateboarding? there are fucking stupid laws called "odd laws" like in jersey, its illegal to slurp soup in restaurants and in Boston, its illegal to take a bath, c'mon, this low pants shit is stupid and i don't see what it has to do with anything relating to punk, if its passed and you despise it so much, rally against it or just leave cleveland, christ 2+ Replies

ok, i am dam sure that there are far more important problems going on then kids wearing low pants.
Someone (October 22, 2001)
"young man...will you please stop what you're doing and come over here?" said the officer (Scared that the officer caught him smoking weed) "Sure officer, is there a problem?" "young man, your pants are too low, I will be giving you a ticket now. Can I please see your license and registration, and $25?" .......... after everything is over..."Damn, I'm sure glad he didn't catch me up for something else, now let me pull those pants down again, i just saw the cop turn the corner" said the friend to his friend. haha now everyone think about that, it's not like it's going to solve any problems, even the problems that cops really do and should care about, illegal drugs, etc. hope that made sense -m2c

wow. i can't believe this shit was proposed as a law. all i can say is "60's". The same shit was going on then, with short skirts being disallowed in public schools, and when people look back on it now, they laugh. i can't believe they're trying to pull this shit again, so in 25 years, people can look back and laugh saying "what a bunch of morons those politicians were". I laugh...and cry.

I skateboard. I wear normal sized pants. At the waist. My friends skateboard. They wear normal sized pants. At the waist. I see no direct correlation between skateboarding, and oversized, low-riding pants. 2+ Replies

This is total bullshit...I was in a bad mood already and then I go and read this...I may be pissed about something else entirely right now, but I plan on channeling it through here. This is fucking pathetic. I want to fly to cleveland, and beat the fuck out of this fucking fascist whose idea this was. With all the crazy shit going on in the world right now, this motherfucker has time to worry about saggy pants. I bet this guys fat. A lot of people don't like to look at fat people. Maybe they should start fining him for being a fat, leathery old piece of shit with too much time on his hands. 1+ Reply

You know what'd be funny is if cops start tugging kids' pants down a little and give them tickets. I could see it happen, too. Haha. I hope it happens a lot, too. I'd laugh. Hard.
Someone (October 23, 2001)
I think this is total bs but of course wearing your pants lows i a sign of beganing true homosexuality. i mean everyone knows that little g-kids and little skater kids like to pull down the area where the boxers and pants meet for a good ass thumping. I mean come on dont hide it anymore show your gayness by wearing flappy pink triangles on your boxers. That way everyone will know that day it will be ok to screw your little but hole. Well you pop-punk homosexuals im happy that all of you listend to screaching weasle enough to become gay and wear baggy pants but i hope they dont start gay bashing you for it. peace tiny 6+ Replies

FUCK FASCISM! FUCK NATHANIEL MARTIN! LETS LYNCH NATHANIEL MARTIN! no joke. people like this should be shot.
Someone (October 23, 2001)
umm.. how does one dumbass trying to pass a law make it acceptable for everyone to hate ohio? ohio is a state, not a person. ohio is not trying to pass a law, because a state is an inanimate object, and thus, cannot pass a law. so, stop hating ohio when you should be hating Nathaniel Martin. i only hope that it doesnt get passed. 1+ Reply

huh? why skaters? oh yea, you see muska and his bunch wearing baggy pants like fred durst etc etc, yea sure they (muska and his bunch) got some skill, but that's not what i call skateboarding. wanna see some skateboarding? look at the king rodney mullen, or rowley, or even arto sari. that's skateboard, vert is a dead joke.
Someone (October 26, 2001)

I live in Cleveland and can tell you that the man behind this is a moron. The coucilman has basically said he wants to make the neighborhood kids gentlemen, instead of gangbangers. It is quite shitty. But it all shouldnt matter, that is another right gone (Polls show that this is actually going to pass!). | Features
