A little off-topic, but pretty funny/scary anyway. Apparently, the Cleveland city councilman Nathaniel Martin is pushing for a law to fine people for wearing low riding pants. So much for freedom. And yet, somehow, red backwards baseball caps are still allowed.

wow. i can't believe this shit was proposed as a law. all i can say is "60's". The same shit was going on then, with short skirts being disallowed in public schools, and when people look back on it now, they laugh. i can't believe they're trying to pull this shit again, so in 25 years, people can look back and laugh saying "what a bunch of morons those politicians were". I laugh...and cry.

I skateboard. I wear normal sized pants. At the waist. My friends skateboard. They wear normal sized pants. At the waist. I see no direct correlation between skateboarding, and oversized, low-riding pants.

The large, low-riding pants is a myth about skateboarders. See, we wear loose(r) fit jeans, but not too loose or low. Because if they were too big and too low, it would be difficult to skate. Now, larger shorts are worn more often, as to give more movement than the typical shorts that you'd buy at a department store which cramp the crotch area.

oh please, everyone wears baggy pants. i'm not a skater, and I don't wear my pants down to my knees, but i wear them fairly low down compared to where they're meant to be worn. No one's pants are all that restrictive. Unless someone wears tight pants.

This is total bullshit...I was in a bad mood already and then I go and read this...I may be pissed about something else entirely right now, but I plan on channeling it through here. This is fucking pathetic. I want to fly to cleveland, and beat the fuck out of this fucking fascist whose idea this was. It was my idea. I'm not really fat, about 185, which is fairly normal for my height. And it's not that I have the time to worry about saggy pants, it's just a phobia that I have in the way that some people are afraid of heights or small, enclosed spaces. maybe she was a little harsh, but sarcasm is only expressed by tone of voice. It's possible that you just assumed right away that he meant it as sarcasm, but if someone doesn't just come to that conclusion automatically, it comes across as cruel, and ignorant. Therefore, everyone should take note that sarcasm that would be funny in live conversation, isn't necessarily funny in text conversation.
