Ben Harper leaves Amber Pacific

After joining the band back in October, Ben Harper has left Amber Pacific. The former Yellowcard guitarist also left that band in November of last year.

Harper, who also runs Takeover Records, had this to say:

Amber Pacific are a bunch of great guys, but after writing with them in Seattle, I felt I needed to rethink my position in life.

Though the guitarist has received an offer to play in a band you may have "never heard of," he's not confirming his membership just yet.

they had them up on their myspace for a little while, but they've been taken down.

frankly, they're nothing special. i daresay the new songs sounded "dancey". i was a little disappointed.

yes. just because you don't like a band gives you license to joke about someone taking their own life for your enjoyment. and for the record, i have no tolerance for yellowcard and frankly i've never even heard of amber pacific.

i hate most of that fratboy hippie pop-rock stuff, but ben harper (of the innocent criminals) is pretty decent. he plays a mean lap-slide guitar.

agreed 100%. i hate that junk except for ben and maybe a couple of others. his slide guitar at the end of 'flake' by jack johnson is rad.

ok, about yellowcard

i downloaded this album by them called where we stand.

i think it's their first but it might be some other band entirely. there's a different singer and the violin thing isn't there.

One of the consistantly great shitty label owners out there right now. My favorite Yellowcard moment was when Ben Harper left anyway, so it made perfect sense that when he quit his next shitty band would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I throw shit at him in public whenever I can, can't wait for the next time

yellowcard definitely tanked with their new cd, and ben was lucky to get out. but amber pacific is awesome. and some of you critics may even like their new stuff. i saw them (with ben in the band) a couple months ago, and the stuff sounded like old school punk. it was very fast, energetic, and not poppy at all.
