Fueled by Ramen signs Powerspace, drops Days Away, Kane Hodder, the A.K.A.s

Fueled by Ramen has signed Chicago, IL's Powerspace. No release information is currently available, however it's assumed the band will release a new album in 2007.

In additional roster news, the label has moved Days Away, Kane Hodder, and the A.K.A.s to the 'Alumni' section on the bands page, indicating those acts have separated from the label.

I know a few years back the site was a lot more opinionated in the stories but recently all the editors are cracking wise.

To be honest, we try to keep the joking to a minimum, but certain stories really do demand it. It was difficult for me to write a proper story about that Green Day story without bringing up the similar charges and it's nigh impossible to talk about that grocery store clerk with a straight face.

I thought the Green Day crack was pretty good (and the grocery clerk story was funny as hell) but I just seem to notice the jokes are up pretty recently. I blame Chris.

Since Scott left the site has started to take a more "absolutepunk.net" turn with the articles. Now there are jokes within them everywhere and joke bands like TEH REVOLT are getting full articles? I don't know how to explain it

it's hard for me to believe that Fueled by Ramen was once the label home to The Impossibles, Ann Beretta, and The Pietasters. It's nothing but trendy garbage now (see "Cute is What We Aim For").

Seriously. Fallout Boy, Academy Is, August Premiere, October Fall... all shit bands.

The ONLY good band is the Hush Sound, and remarkably the only one that is actually able to play their songs live without "help"

Do you mean the show on the 29th with Desa or the one with Fall of Troy in January? Cuz I may have to totally be there.
As for the seeing me at a show deali, one of two things may have happened
1) I didn't hear you (cuz I've totally wanted to see you forever, everytime I mention I've interviewed Springman artists people go, "Oh, have you met Avi?", to which I must reply no. So you must be some kind of awesome).
2) If you yelled "Dante" chances are I really didn't want to find out who yelled it. Most people who I've met who recognize me from punknews are pretty cool, but once in a while (maybe only once) I've met a douche. So unless I know who it is (Toby ussually [and drunkenly] calls me Dante, and loudly introduces me as such), I ussually ignore the name Dante.
Anyhow, if you see me, feel free to punch me in the ribs.

The Politically Incorrect dude?
First, not anywhere near as funny as Colbert.
As for smart, maybe he comes across more fact based but the satire that is woven in The Colbert Report is sheer genius. To be able to give a message that is based in right wing philosophy but comes across liberal (not due to an over the top manner mind you but by focusing on contradictions and lines of logic) is amazing.
As for Mr. Maher, he lost all credit with me when he said that no one could say the terrorist attackers in 9/11 were cowards. Then retracted his statement among a wave of complaints. I wouldn't normally mind this kind of a punk move but 1) he was right and shouldn't have retracted, 2) you're show is called "Politacally Incorrect", have some balls.

I thought Kane Hodder would have gotten bigger than they are, honestly.

They aren't anything crazy "original", but at least as a live act they had/have
a lot of Charisma and drive.
