Mike Myers to play The Who's Keith Moon in new film

Canadian funnyman Mike Myers has been confirmed to play Keith Moon, the famous, late drummer from The Who, in an upcoming film titled See Me Feel Me (Keith Moon Naked For Pleasure).

Details on the supporting cast have not been announced, however, Myers was reportedly handpicked by the Who's Roger Daltrey to play the part and to be "the creative force to pull the project together."

Currently, the film is scheduled for a 2009 release.

Moron, this is a news site. I come here to get news, not read shit submitted by 12 year olds. I don't have to submit news to the CNN site; i expect them to have current news already.

I'll try using small words.
The content (words you read in stories) on this site (punknews.org) is nearly all provided by users (the people who read the site). Now due to their popularity the editors do get news and press releases from record labels and bands sometimes, so they do have the inside scoop once in a while. However, they all have real lives outside of the internet so they don't have time to search 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for news. CNN is a full time news outlet that can afford to pay people to do research at all time.

If you really feel something should be posted, and it hasn't, feel free to submit it. Or you can fork over the money so that the editors can make this their full time job.

As for the car/wheel thing, (again small words) this site started running on user submitted news. It was all it had, in terms of content. The fact that it still runs on that today is a wonderful example of keeping the users involved on the site. Simply because "you" (whoever you are) don't like the occasional reader submitted news, does not make it a bad idea. Asking to revoke the entire basis of a website (like reader submitted news) because you don't like one or two stories is stupid. Add to it that the news isn't written by a 12 year old, but the editors (the news is only submitted by readers it's not posted word for word) and you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

This is actually "new" news. The info of Mike Myers playing Keith Moon is at least 6 months old, but now that it is "confirmed" and the news about Roger Daltrey hand picking Myers is new information. So this is actually news and no longer speculation.

I submitted this. My source for this story was a Jan 03, 2007 article in the Tripwire. Taking a look at Google news, lots of places recently posted this story:

I just looked into it and all of these stories stem from a report that the New York Times did on December 31, 2006, which is the original source for the Daltrey quotes. I assumed there was some new part to the story (a confirmation?) after seeing all those places post it. If that's not the case then oh well, we goofed. I don't know how we'll go about living the rest of our lives with this hanging over us, but we'll try.
