Eh, whatever. They completely gave up the ska to find greener pastures on their last album. They had already given up at that point.

I used to play some upstrokes But I wasn’t getting paid So I decided we would have to Change the music that we made I talked to drive thru records To see what sound was in He said we had to drop the ska And start playing pop-punk with synths But we never did get signed We burned all of our bridges And left all our original fans behind We got a brand new sound We’ll see you fags around Bow down because look who’s the big shot now You’re not the one You used to be so fun But now you got no fucking horns What happened what happened what happened Now I’m in talks with the guy at victory I said hey man we don’t play ska Can you please put out my cd You know we’re more than willing To do whatever it takes to show rest of comment 5+ Replies

Roast beef, onion marmalade, sauteed bell peppers, and provolone on a grilled ciabatta.

this band was great back when they were a ska band. "she hates ska" is one of my favorite ska songs of all time. it was a sad day when they changed their sound. kinda glad it's dead now, though.

Simpsons references are nice, but this is/was just too blatantly obvious. 1+ Reply

I could never get into this band, I'm pretty much indifferent to the news. 2+ Replies

Bah. It's not that bands dropping the ska that bothers me, it's not even just generally changing the sound of the band, but their last album jsut wasn't good. 2+ Replies

This is a bit sad. I had finally brought them back into my rotation as the Chicago winter receded.

Interesting this story is almost doubling the amount of comments the Offspring update is getting.

My old band played a show with these guys in Madison. Prior to the show, I liked their music and all, but these guys were serious pricks. Plus, I heard somewhere that the lead singer had some statutory rape charges brought against him. Wouldn't doubt it because the only kids that showed up for them were 14 year old girls. 2+ Replies

I wanted to write a little story about IV4k When i first met Rick(Iv4k) it was 1999 and my band was headlining a show in Green Bay Wisconsin. It seemed like about 30 kids showed up. Iv4k was playing and a few other bands at the infamous Concert Cafe. Well it turns out no one was moving or was just watching as we performed and all of a sudden out of no where comes 10 kids who came from out side moshing and skanking away! You geussed it, it was the IV4k gang, Kids commented on the awesome show for years to come. There is something we can all learn from them that respect and friendship can go along way and i will always cherish my first ufo encounter of IV4k. No one knew i would be doing Snapdragon Records and even if i didn't i would tell you there is not a harder working band i have ever met in my life. It goes to show you you never know who you wil meet or what
