Updates from Slint: more shows, new material

Touch and Go has posted a brief update on the status of influential act Slint. While they are not confirming any of the rumours about new recordings from the group, they did have this to say:

Slint has been preparing for shows this summer. They want to play music together and have decided to work on new material. Once they find a rehearsal space (in Louisville, KY), they can begin this process. Anything new will take a while. With a little luck, Touch and Go will have something to release in the next few

The band released the critically launded Spiderland in 1991.

This is big news from a band who certainly influenced a ton of bands from college rock to math rock. I used to like them, but I've moved on. For anyone who has just discovered Slint or who still likes them this in going to be pretty exciting.

Holy shit. New material would be unbelievable. This is one of the few bands who could reunite, release something new, and make it just as incredible as Spiderland.

"launded" isn't a word. i think "lauded" is what you're after.

I'm seeing them play Spiderland in its entirety in August. It's going to be intense.
