According to several readers of the magazine Punk Rock Confidential, the latest issue contains a simple, black and white advertisement for the re-release of Operation Ivy's legendary album Energy. According to the advertisement, the album will be released via Rancid Records on May 1st. Additionally, the ad further states "It's back after 2 years and remastered…", though the notification of it being remastered does not include any further information about additional artwork or music included with the reissue.

The album was last released via Lookout! Records, but pulled from the label after a series of financial problems.
