The City on Film to tour Australia

Bob Nanna's The City On Film have announced plans for tours of both Australia and the UK. The tour coincides with the Australian and UK releases of the band's debut full length, In Formal Introduction. Both reissues include three bonus tracks.

For the UK dates, Bob will be joined by Owen. Support for the Australian tour, as well as dates, are expected shortly.

The disc was released by Hobbledehoy Records.

...besides like three bad Hey Mercedes songs, but that's about it. Ever listen to his first band, Friction? Or The Sky Corvair with Tim Kinsella? He played drums and sang in both.

I think Friction is ok, but I've never heard of Sky Corvair. I'm interested, though. And I agree, a few Hey Mercedes songs weren't his best, but I only skip "Playing Your Song" on a regular basis.

Yes. The 2004 Braid reunion was awesome. They played in Pittsburgh in a church-turned-venue and Bob made a lame joke or two about it, but the show was amazing.

Movie Music Volume I (great representation of their entire career) and then Frame and Canvas (all-around solid record--maybe even revolutionary to some)

frame and canvas is their tightest but when you go back further they are more loose and disjointed. good stuff either way

I find myself listening to "The Age of Octeen" the most, I think it has the most raw energy. Movie Music Vol. 1 was the first thing I got, and it's a nice way to hear how they progressed. Considering your starting point, I'd go with "Frame & Canvas," it's the closest thing to that record, but still doesn't sound like it.
