Jimmy Eat World Changes Title of Latest Album

: Looks like Jimmy Eat World ditched the "Bleed American" title for something a little more PC. It is now their Self-Titled album. Don't believe me, go to there web site, click on the discography section and see for yourself. What a bunch of crap.

But the S/T version of "Bleed American" does include a bonus CD with - "The Middle" (acoustic) - "Splash, Turn, Twist" (from Import and Vinyl) - "The Middle" (video) - Jimmy Eat World Rockumentary (17 mins of footage including Bleed American video)

no, you don't. you can send four dollars in money order or cash to: Jimmy Eat World PO Box 1403 Topanga, CA 90290 requesting the cd or you can put your bleed american cd in your computer and go to the secret site, where you can download all the stuff from the bonus cd.

personally i think it's good they changed their name, it's not a bunch of crap and how does it affect you if they do? who cares it still has all the same music on it, the songs still called the same thing, and they even throw in a bonus cd, they are actually being kind to the people the tragedy affected so stop being so ignorant whoever submitted the news, damn you need a reality check quick! it's called integrity. you should owe it yourself to stick up for what you produce. what's next, people telling you exactly what to say/play (is this already the case?). why is jimmy eats world still mentioned in this site? it is foolish to debate what is punk but i think lyrically, musically, and the concept of punk definitely does not apply to jimmy eats world (that's not slandering there music - aka quality, even though i think they suck). i'm sure there's a "www.alternativemusicnews.com" website out there some where they can be on. oh well... bret oijoyboy@hotmail.com

Be reasonable. Who tells you that they change the name because of what other people say?Perhaps they see some things different now, and they don't want to be associated with the wrong thing. We have different time now than we had when this record was named. I don't think anybody would call his album so, if he bring it out now. Sure, i don't mean that every album should now be analyzed about their lyrics or title. But i know that if i would bring a new album out now i would not call it bleed american. For me punk is not about not changing my views or my oppinion. It' about being open-minded, and staying true on this fact. It's their decision, not yours, now you are forcing your oppinion on them! Think about it.

So what if they change the name of their album. they didn't have to do it, but they chose to. Fuck its their album. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Why is not that simple to you? Remember NOFX's 'white trash two heebs and a bean?', well that name was changed from the original title before it was released, it was supposed to be white trash two heebs and a spic. I actually thought the name was more patriotic than anything else. To me it meant to stand up for/believe in your country so much that it's running through your veins. Guess I'm too analytical...

This is so their album won't get pulled off the shelves at the malls depriving the mall-punks a chance to buy it. Total calculated MARKETING move. I also like the way JEW doesn't count their first self-produced album as a "real" album (in a British radio interview). I guess its not "real" unless it has the slick commercial sheen of their latest efforts.
