Reel Big Fish's Myspace page has been updated with a sampler for the bands new album.
The record is titled Monkeys for Nothin' and the Chimps for Free and is due out July 10, 2007 on Rock Ridge Recordings.
The sampler includes snippets from "Way Back" (a discarded track from the band's previous full-length, We're Not Happy Til You're Not Happy) as well as a re-recorded version of "I'm Her Man" from the band's debut album Everything Sucks. You can see the artwork for the record on the release detail page. The band will be supporting the record with a co-headlining tour featuring Less Than Jake. Rock Ridge Music (61 comments)

I think Our Live Album...actually showcases their material pretty well. There is a lot of stuff douchebags on the inernet could say about RBF but they ARE a great live band.

This sounds WAY better then their last two albums! i think the dude on here said it best when he said "Color me surprised!" haha. I do always enjoy some RBF though.

i agree with some of the people posting here, i love reel big fish...who gives a shit if they write goofy songs and sound juvenile..music should be fun...and these guys put on one hell of a show! who cares if 1994 called and they want their music back, i love ska, i love this band, and i cant wait for the new album.

Bad artwork, and the sampler does nothing more than say "look guys, we have lots of horns!" I think I'll enjoy the last threee albums way more than this. TTRO was actually my least favoritve, and I'm getting that vibe from this one. I like it when they're pissed off. Everyone says this is just a stupid goofy ska band, but the real draw these guys have is their incredibly dark / jaded / cynical lyrics. It's almost like a "Death To Smoochy" kind of thing, where it's all smiles and rainbows on the outside, and grim shit once you scratch the surface.

After their last album, I kind wrote off RBF, and I rolled my eyes at them blaming Jive for their last album and how bland and boring it was....but this looks quite promising. Hope they play Toronto sometime soon.
