Sum 41 have posted the first video from their new album. The record is titled Underclass Hero and is due out July 24, 2007. It is the follow-up to Chuck which was released in 2004.

Stuff on Chuck sounded a lot better than this. This song sounds like they altered the fast parts from Fat Lip, and made a full song out of it.

I'm honestly not impressed.

Or maybe it's because immediately prior to downloading the new Strung Out, I downloaded No Trigger - Canyoneer.

Maybe because Canyoneer is so fucking good makes the new SO look bad. Or maybe it's because the new SO is just boring, and bland, and Jason's voice puts me to sleep, and it's way too overproduced. Oh also, too much fucking guitar noodling. Sure, you're great musicians, but stop flaunting it.

I love Exile. It may not be STWB or Twisted by Design, but it's still better than alot of stuff out there. I'm going to have to pick up that new No Trigger. I've never listened to an entire album, but I saw them live and they were very impressive.

First of all, I added the (ish) part to avoid morons like you. Second of all, I could get into a full on argument about this, but I don't feel like wasting time doing so with a 13-14 year old "punk" who just saw "Sid and Nancy" and "SLC Punk" and then all of a sudden thinks he knows everything there is about punk.

But I will leave you with this, ever hear of The Clash or The Ramones? They aren't exactly the most underground bands you know, even in their days...

You know, I never listened to these guys as I hated their first couple singles. And then I saw them at Warped Tour went they went on before Rancid in Detroit and pretty much got run off the stage by people waiting for Rancid. They didn't seem too interested in playing songs and just tried to be funny (and failed). But after all of the songs I've heard since, they are not nearly as bad as I wanted them to be. I have to admit, they have some descent stuff. Fat Lip was completely fucking terrible though.

I heard White People for Peace on Fungus today. I hadn't heard that since it was linked on here. I know you could hear it just about anywhere, I just don't want the album's release to be ruined for me. There are only 10 songs and I already know one very well (Americans Abroad) and have heard White People several times. I want it to still be exciting for me when it is released. I'm making a special exception tonight for the new Strung Out.

You know I don't really want to hear any of Against Me!'s singles off of their new album because what makes them so fucking awesome is how the cd goes together as a whole and by hearing a single it ruins the track for me once I do get the album that is what happened to "Don't Lose Touch". The thing about Sum 41 is their cd's are just a bunch of singles put together, which is good too... just doesn't matter if I hear the songs now or when the album comes out.

I'm just listening to Randy's "The Rest is Silence"... it's fucking amazing, it's like Propagandhi added the thrash stuff but managed to keep the pop-punk. Wow.

Are you kidding? That's not even close. Sum 41 may not be that great, but Fall Out Boy is not only terrible, but from the live footage I have seen they are one of the world's worst live bands on top of it.

Depends what album we are talking about.

I'd take "Take This To Your Grave" on top, it was actually a pretty good album for it's time. The whole theme they ran with back then is pretty played out now though. Anything good always ends up as a cliche with a billion also rans from other bands that get influenced by it.

I won't lie though, I've got "Does This Look Infected" from Sum 41 in rotation as we speak. It's not like it's compelling or ultra creative, but if we can put pretentiousness aside it's an enjoyable album.

Shades of Green Day, with the entire semi-political-yet-mainstream deal going on. I'm not a fan, but I actually like when these more mainstream bands put out political songs. Maybe it'll make a few high school freshmen think about something important. Then they can move on to something better like Strike Anywhere. There has to be a starting point.

Speaking of Green Day, I think they ripped off that little "I-pledge-allegiance..." shtick directly from them. Whatever.

The guitar parts, rhythms, and even some of the vocal melodies sound totally ripped from FatLip.....their own song. I even expect it to go into the same chorus, but obviously they changed the melody there. Kudos, Sum41...you basically made a remix.

The chorus is from subject to change which was a bonus track on chuck. For anyone that is stupid it was obviously called SUBJECT TO CHANGE for a reason as they always planned to change it for their next single.

This video is definitely Fat Lip 2. But you know something? I liked it the first time and I like it this time. I listen to a lot of really good political punk bands and sometimes it's fun to have a Sum 41 there to lighten the mood without having to listen to straight up pop bands. Not every band can be hardcore political and I love Sum 41 how they are [even if it's a bit 7th grade]. But seriously, who else isn't afraid to say they like this band!?
