Tours: Riverboat Gamblers / Valient Thorr / Totimoshi / Birds of Avalon / ASG

Volcom has announced plans for a label-themed summer tour to be headlined by two bands on the label. The 2007 Volcom Tour will feature Riverboat Gamblers and Valient Thorr and feature support from labelmates Totimoshi, Birds of Avalon, ASG, and Year Long Disaster.

The tour will be hitting over 40 cities across the nation beginning August 1, 2007. Confirmed venues and cities will be announced shortly.

Both headliners are supporting recent releases. Valient Thorr is touring on Legend of the World and The Gamblers are supporting To the Confusion of Our Enemies.

Yeah, Riverboat is really awesome live. The singer is all over the place.... he even humped a Christmas tree when I saw 'em last December. How can you no enjoy that! right?

Never seen them, yet.
But as the last time I saw the Gamblers Mike spent half the show either in the crowd or climbing things, I'm interested to see a band beat that.

I've seen both bands live... they are pretty equal for the amount of energy they put into their shows, so I don't think you can say one is ">>>>>>>" than the other. I would give the advantage to R.G. just because I enjoy their music more, but they are equally good live bands.

I grew up with the lead singer. We're from NORTH CAROLINA (and one of the most redneck parts of it at that). He's not playing southern rock wannabe music. He's from the south and he's playing rock and roll. So it IS Southern Rock (with a punk edge), there is no "wannabe" about it.

And honestly, I wasn't even aware of any "southern" sound to their music until I heard people on the internet talking about it. But I guess when you're from the south, you don't go around referring to stuff with the word "southern" in front of it.

RBG is alright, but their live show is awesome. i saw them in vermont with AM! and fake problems. They made so many polar bear jokes, it was really funny.
