Another Hopeless act has made the jump to a major label, with recent signing Nural joining Atlantic Records, part of the Warner Music Group. The follow up to The Weight of the World will be the first in a joint venture between Hopeless and Atlantic and ensuing albums will be released solely via the major label.

Who were their other bands that made the jump? I wonder if they have an agreement to work as some sort of farm system label that cultivates the indie credibility of the band before they get properly "signed" to the major. In those types of deal the major foots the bill in full and the indie label's name gets slapped on the CD to make it look credible.

this band has certainly not sold enough to gain major label interest. I don't get it.

I get so angry when bands sign to major labels! It's just, like, so fucked up. What gives them the right?! The only bands I will ever support are the ones that don't have places to live or any money to support themselves- that's real punk rock. I mean, I would never try and do that myself and, to the contrary, I actually have never actually even been in a band but I still know what's right or wrong. My punknews brothers- we must stick together in our quest: DO NOT SUPPORT BANDS THAT CAN SUPPORT THEMSELVES! ok, gotta go- my parent's need the computer.

These guys are squeaky-clean and catchy enough, they could actually pump out some hits with the right producer.

probably the ony redeeming value of this band is that their roadie is the guy who was the kid in problem child. the movie. no kidding. and he goes by the nickname "pc." no kidding. oh, and it's "gaffer's tape" by the way, not duct tape.

These guys worked really hard on last years Warped Tour. Hard work does pay off, for sure. Great guys. |
