Springman Records launches Silver Sprocket

Springman Records has launched a new imprint called Silver Sprocket, promising new releases this summer from the River City Rebels, Tera Melos and Secretions, exclusive vinyl from the Phenomenauts and Big D And The Kids Table as well as assorted projects featuring the The New Trust, Pteradon, and Hanalei.

In addition to music, the new label has plans to release clothing, artwork and toys.

Springman proper will go on hiatus while the staff focuses on the new project. Mail order will still be filled but no new signings or releases are expected on Springman for the forseeable future.

Interesting...So it will have releases from Springman artists but is not Springman? Is this a rebranding effort? Can I order Silver Sprocket stuff via Springman? Will the be shipped in separate containers? My god, it's chaos!
Either way I wish them all the best and hope that they continue to release killer music.

Kind of, but there's more to it than that. I've been doing Springman for ten years now, I'm super proud of it but there's some baggage. This is a fresh slate with a different focus and different branding that's a lot more appropriate for the kinds of projects I'm more excited about now.

In other words Avi signed a deal with a failing LMMG and can't get out of the contract so instead he put all his efforts into an imprint that will be distributed elsewhere.

an awful company built off old money . . . nothing punk about it, never was and never will be.

hopefully more labels will learn to adapt before dirk & co. put them all out of business.

LMMG has been great to us, the CDs and LPs on Silver Sprocket are still going through LMMG for formal distribution.

Icons and Rosaries is brilliant and Farmhouse Blues is really good too.
I honestly don't get where the hate comes from...they are super cool guys and have always put out really solid music save for a few cuts on Hate to Be Loved, but the new sound is perfect. eclectic but still punk as fuck.

the rcrs new record will blow away anything springman has put out so far. the whole record is timeless and cant be touched. as much as i hate the people in the band the songs cant be denied.

good stuff in store for the rebs.

i dont know what kind of "toys" you mean, and hopefully its not just the kind that dante has me insert in his butt, but ... action figures, not only can they be inserted in dante's butt, they can also be layed with and set up in rocking poses

i know if action figures were a possibility, then phenomenauts would be the logical choice for you (and a worthy purchase)...

but if somehow you can finagle it, Aquabats Action FIgures

Or Dante and Jones action figures with Kung-fu ass grip action. Nothing demoralizes an opponent more than ripping off their penis with your own ass (I learned that from the movie 300).
