Alkaline Trio debuts new track, on video

Since it feels like forever since we got a new song from Alkaline Trio, the band debuted a new song apparently titled "In Vain" at the Warped Tour and our lost love, Scott Heisel, snapped a video of the performance.

The band signed to Epic following the shutdown of their prior home, V2 Music. Though it's been two years since their last studio release, Crimson, the band has since released released their second rarities and B-sides compilation, Remains, as well as unveiling plans to reissue their fan-favorite album, Goddamnit,.

Their Epic debut is expected soon.

Hm, interesting. It doesn't sound like anything they've done before with those staccato guitars. Change is good though, I'd like to see these guys expand their sound a bit.

On an unrelated note, have any of you ever listened to a genre called "folk-metal." It's nothing like folk-punk, for the record. It basically takes metal guitars and layers it with Norse insturments like ocarinas and stuff. The vocals are often that lame roar/growl stuff, but the insturmental part of it really has me hooked.

Yeah, I was taking pictures from far back when Dan said they were going to play a new song, so I just popped the setting over to video and hit "record." I lost about the last 5-10 seconds of the song as my memory card filled up, though. I don't consider myself a videographer by any means.

its different, yes. but it doent mean that its automatically terrable.

amen. at least one of you actually listened to crimson and has enough common sense to realize that it was horrible. i mean, i loved the trio, completely devoted to them. but just because i'm a fan doesn't mean that i can't admit when they release crap.
