The Dropkick Murphys have announced the dates for their upcoming headlining tour featuring former label mates, The Horrorpops, plus fellow Bostonians, Everybody Out. The Dropkick Murphys will be supporting their upcoming sixth full length titled The Meanest of Times, which is due out September 18, 2007.

Philly scene is cool in my book. I go to the University of Delaware and we book a lot of punk, hardcore, indie bands from Philly.

Indifference can be bad, but think about it like this..........I am sure you are always the opposite of indifferent. The guys from Dropkick do not support racism, that is like saying "well he was drunk and mowed down children, but that guy didn't throw himself in front of the car, he is indifferent." Grow the hell up and listen to the lyrics.

Lots of bands have done Skrewdriver songs, there's no denying their first non-Nazi LP is a brilliant punk album. Their subsequent 12" after that was great too and then came the white rain if you will. Covering I Don't Like You or 9 to 5 is hardly the same thing as covering When the Boat Comes In or White Rider. HOWEVER, The Bruisers early behavior has always been suspect. The jacket of their early, if not first, 7" looked pretty white power and while the songs did walk the fine line, they sang about hating punks as did Choke's "oi" band from the same time Stars and Stripes. I love how when it's brought up, Al Barr tries to backtrack over history. "We were young, we were ignorant." Yeah, yeah, whatever.

This band has hardly been part of the scene since Do or Die and after the paycheck they got from The Departed they don't need to be any longer. They've got new fans now.

I don't think they made much for the Departed, although the additional sales of their record that it generated was probably pretty huge for them.

Green Bay, WI 2001? I was at a Dropkick Murphys show and they stopped their set to kick out two "nazi" guys, so unless it's an elaborate cover up, theyr'e not nazis.
