The reason the U.S doesnt impose sanctions on china anymore is because there is a much more market enterprise available in China, rather than the Ukraine which probably has little to no value to us, i know it sounds wrong, but the government does what it has to do or whatever will benefit us..

The U.S. does have the worlds largest defense budget, but that doesn't mean other countries defense budgets versus their GNP is not at a higher % than the U.S. The U.S. is the world's strongest economy...and a defense budget is set in order to protect vital american interests. Do you know who the largest contributor to the International Red Cross/Red Crescent is? That terribly oppressive, war mongering, bottom dollar is all that matters, government of the United States. Oh lord, they are terrible. I don't agree with China being given favored trade status...I think they are commie scum, and the most likely to use nuclear weapons against the U.S., were the situation ever to arise. But alas, for trade status, they are a large market that produces things that are vital to the world, not only the U.S. government. How many of the components in your computer were actually built in the country that you live in? I can almost guarantee 95% of the components weren't. Hewlett Packard has their products manufactured in china. Almost any brand of RAM is manufactured in China. Seagate products...made in China...Maxtor products...same thing... Favored trade relations help keep prices down for the end consumer...its not the chinese government who benefits from this all...its the workers who are under an oppressive government who are given the capability to stay employed...to stay independant from the government. Thats my 2 cents worth...please reply...anyone...if you don't agree with my views. But please have stats and figures to back those up.

Totally agree with your article. I am just reading an article titled "Who will step in when America's Globocops stop policing?" Again, if America steps in they cry foul. If they don't ,they cry "where are they!" Another damned if you do damned if you don't. I am making it a personal crusade of mine to debunk any and all articles degrading the US of A. I'm afraid I am going to be busy but I'm up for the challenge.

Aubin, With all due respect...I think that question was asked of you in a manner of "If you don't live in America, why are you concerned with American politics." And to a degree, I agree...Everyone is concerned with the U.S. governments intervention in other countries...but don't realize that when a non-american disagrees with what our government does, they are meddling in territory that does not concern them. Does America's trade policy have any effect on you in Canada? If so...please tell me how.

Not being an American doesn't mean I should ignore the vast and damaging effect the US government may have on the world. Caring about the well being of other people has nothing to do with geographical boundries. On a more practical note, Canada has sometimes bent over for the US governments demands, and I'd hate to see more American laws being enforced here.

Of course, I'm sure you'll reply "But they don't have to work for these corporations" or the age old.."But at least they'll have a job!" The problem is, most of them have jobs right now. When the US corporations move in, they'll take over all the local industry in areas, leaving people with no choice but to work for less money, in worse conditions than before. When you don't have enough money to properly feed and house your family, it's kind of hard to afford to move where economic condtions are better. And with China being a "full trade partner", soon there won't even be anywhere TO move to. Free trade is just a way for the capitalist system to expand and exploit everyday people more. The only good to it is that it shows the weakness of the capitalist system, which will ineveitably fail (people can only get so much poorer, before they can't afford to be good consumers. A society can't survive on credit forever.) 30,000 at Seattle 50,000 at Quebec 100,000 at Gothenberg 300,000 at Genoa. The movement is growing. Free trade is wrong. Basic facts point that way. Deal with it. Any sources for anything I've said are available onr request. Just give the specific item, and I'll find a backing up source, from the mainstrem if at all possible, since that's more likely to satisfy you.

it's not Ukrainians the US is worrying about ... a lot of the pirated technology that is in the US traces back to Ukraine. and I don't think that the Ukrainian government doesn't want to stop piracy - it's just not any more able to stop people from doing it than the US government is able to stop us from burning CDs in our own living rooms. and their government has better things to worry than chasing around pirates - they have an economy to build that is still struggling to overcome the communist era.

i must agree to you. A friend has been in China half year ago with his girlfriend, and he was happy when he was back in Germany. He sad it was a total disaster. He felt like beeing back in 1900 or so. Remember the kings and queens all fall down after the industrial revolution or during it in Europe. This government is nothing else, old bastards preaching to the people but just trying to keep their powerful position. Democracy might not be the optimum, but in comparison to (realworld)communism its much more appealing to the majority. By the way, with who could China make business if they wiped out the west? Sure not with their own mainly poor people. Money is what finally keeps the world turning, has alwaysd and i am afraid will always. (excuse my bad english, our school system sucks ;-) )
