Stevenson talks about next Lemonheads album

In a recent interview about his band, Only Crime, uber-producer Bill Stevenson dropped some information about a new full length from The Lemonheads.

He explained:

I'm probably going to start another Lemonheads album maybe in the spring or so. I think I'm going to do a tour with Lemonheads in December. It will probably take us a year or more, we work like one week at a time throughout the year at different times.

The band, fronted by Evan Dando, released The Lemonheads last year on Vagrant to some critical acclaim. Only Crime released Virulence earlier this year.

Lots of bands have "hits" with covers. They also achieved some success with the song "It's a Shame About Ray."

their last album on Vagrant was so fucking good. i'm glad vagrant hasn't pulled a complete epitaph and still capable of signing some good stuff among the dr. manhattan/comas shit.

ive got it all and the last was o.k., however the live show last year was total crap and evan was way to strung out to play right, put that with a bad crowd and harrahs blows ass for concerts. ive not listened to them since and never will again.

i'm surprised this is coming so soon after the last

that last album was fantastic, one of the best of last year

they seem to be highly hit or miss live though, luckily i got them on a 'hit' night...was a good time

He's not starting it for about 6 months, then he said it'll probably take about a year, which means early 09 or so, so you're looking at about 2 years from now. That's not too soon. It'll have been about 3 years between records.

I love how virtually no one liked ALL when they were around. When the Descendents got back together everyone just trashed ALL. Now, it's like en vogue to ask when a new ALL record is coming? I hope Chad stays playing country music

i really do love everything The Lemonheads have done, from their first album to the newest one.

i'm very excited to hear the new one when it's out!

Also, i just saw them about a month ago in Buffalo...they were excellent. unfortunately stevenson wasn't playing with them though.
