Kevin Lyman of Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos fame has signed on to produce a new teen comedy flick titled Endless Bummer.
Lyman serves as executive producer/co-writer of the movie, which begins filming this week in Southern California and is slated for a June 2008 release. Matthew Lillard (SLC Punk, Scream) is among the first actors confirmed to appear. Based on the real-life experiences of screenwriter John "J.D." Drury, the early 1980s-era story follows a group of Ventura, Calif., beach buddies who are in search of a stolen surfboard. According to Lyman, the main attraction of the film was that the movie will be heavy on early 80s punk music. New music from Bad Religion, the Action Design, the Vandals, the Dollyrots and the Robbery U.S.A. (members of Rancid, Street Drum Corps, S.T.U.N. and Bathroom Murders) will also appear on the soundtrack. Finally, Lyman notes that the film will also include small guest roles from Joan Jett and Keith Morris. Warped Tour (78 comments)

I guess Matthew Lillard has been many different characters in a number of movies, but every time I see him all I can think of is Steve-o. I guess this movie won't do much to change my opinion. 13+ Replies

For a second I thought "Endless Bummer" was going to a movie about the Warped Tour... 1+ Reply

Did Lyman have anything to do with the "Punk Rock Massacre" DVD, or was it just centered around Warped Tour? Because if that's any indication I'd rather get chlamydia in my eyes than watch another movie he has anything to do with. 2+ Replies

Now that he's successfully commercialized contemporary "punk," he's refocusing his efforts in order to see how much $$ he can sqeeze from the early 80's punk scene. Kevin Lyman, you are a hero among wolves.

The Dollyrots are another underrated, but great band currently recording and touring.

This guy is such an outsider, who probably had some punk friends growing up and has consistantly figured out how to make boat loads of money by not having any true punk ideals. He's a pompous ass who you could say, has hijacked the punk scene for capital gains. 2+ Replies

To all of you angry little "punk" rockers, take a second and compile a quick list of your favorite "punk" bands... chances are most of them were on the Warped Tour. Yes, the Warped Tour can really suck in a lot of ways but the simple fact is that it is very good for most bands- even your beloved "punk" bands. Sorry, kids- can't have it both ways. I know in your perfect world, punk bands would only play in your friend's basement and never actually have an album in stores or have more than 100 fans so you could be that special punk rocker in your highschool who could say, "you've never even HEARD of the bands that I like" to that popular girl you have a crush on but, until then, I regret to inform you that most bands actually try to make a semi-living for their band so they can keep making music and the Warped Tour is a big part of that. 2+ Replies
