OK, hear me out. I don't want to seem like I don't care about the families of the deceased FDNY and NYPD workers, but enough is enough here. When a fireman or police officer dies in the line of duty, the family gets a LARGE sum of money. Most cops and firefighters have life insurance. ALMOST EVERY benefit is SOLELY for the families of cops and firemen. Everyone forget's about the cook's, the secretaries, all the other people who died. Their families get mere pittens compared to what the families of cops and firemen get. My stepdad is a cop in Buffalo, and he gave $100 out of his paycheck to some fund for cops' families. Almost everyone on the force did, most gave more. All around the country police are doing the same. Now, of course the families deserve the money they get, but it's like I say, the other families get left behind.
