"Better Looking Records is set to release the first in a series of collaboration
singles with The Album Leaf. The premise of the series is for The Album Leaf
(aka Jimmy LaValle) to compose and record music and then send it to a selected
musician or vocalist and together create a two-song single that purely defines
what a collaboration should be all about. The result is something unique and
will no doubt leave you wanting more. Artists confirmed for The Album Leaf
series include Bright Eyes, Her Space Holiday, The Blackheart Procession, and
Sigur Ros. The Album Leaf / Bright Eyes collaboration 7-inch comes out in mid
February. An MP3 of one of those tracks is currently available on the record
label's website."

This seems to be the same concept as the Chris Dodge / Dave Witte collaboration album "East West Blast Test" that came out on Slap A Ham Records last winter. On that CD, Dave Witte first composed and recorded all the drum tracks by himself, and then sent them to Chris Dodge who composed and recorded guitar and bass riffs over them. -Towers
