Angels and Airwaves post artwork

Angels and Airwaves has unveiled the cover art for their upcoming album. The project also recently revealed plans to produce a special documentary titled Start the Machine as well as promising a short film for their recently unveiled new single, "Everything's Magic."

Both are promised on the same day as the band's upcoming album. The record is titled I-Empire and is due out October 23, 2007. It is the follow-up to We Don't Need to Whisper which was released in 2006.

I remember seeing them after their first album came out, when they were called blink. They played a song that they introduced as a song about star wars. Is that the song? I never cared about them too much after that (they were very "untight", at the time at least).

Just like in real life....Tom's head is the biggest. The funny part is that I am sure someone informed the cover artist that Tom's head needed to be twice as large as everyone else in the band.

I can't think of this band without thinking of a comment posted here a few months ago that predicted that eventually the AVA live show will be nothing but a band playing and Tom flying around the stage on wires.

I am completely convinced that Angels & Airwaves is one very long, side-splittingly hilarious joke.

One day Tom Delonge realized that he just couldn't push the envelope anymore with Blink's tedious dick and fart jokes. Just listen to The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show. Meh. That routine could only go so far and that's why he concocted this brilliant and elaborate scheme bordering on concept art and social experimentation! Just read what he has to say in press releases, watch those amazing videos, or look at this album art... it's just so much more absurd and ridiculous than the videos for First Date or All The Small Things or the whole Satan routine they would do onstage. I mean, I was literally laughing to the point of having tears streaming down my face when I saw this album cover. I-Empire, indeed. Delonge is a comic genius, making punk rock irreverent once again.

I mean.... that's really the only plausible explanation, right? ..... Right?

I understand that the term "punk" is subjective, but I think we all have an understanding of what we're implying when we call something punk. Usually listed below the definition of a word in the dictionary are a few terms known as antonyms for that particular word.
