Rivers Cuomo of Weezer preps new demo/solo album for December release

Rivers Cuomo, main songwriter behind Weezer is reportedly preparing a new compilation of demos spanning 1992-2007 for release this Christmas. The record is titled Alone - The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo and is due out December 11, 2007.

Rivers also touches on the much derided rumours that he was preparing a book of his memoirs. He notes that he's looking at two to three years for the book to completed and is currently writing and researching. The researching suggests that this may not be memoirs since he's not likely to need to research his own life.

Finally, he makes brief mention of Weezer's sixth album saying only: "Not to mention the Weezer developments, which are also extremely great."

I liked Perfect Situation, that's about it. I actually didn't care for Maladroit much either (I will concede it's much better than Make Believe), but my love for their first three albums will stop me from ever hating them.

Make Believe wasn't good, but it was lightyears better than Maladroit in my opinion.

Make Believe wasn't THAT bad.

I loved it when it first came out, but it has really gone downhill since.

I still really like "Perfect Situation", "Pardon Me", "Hold Me", "The Damage In Your Heart"... but it's still (just a tad bit) better than Maladroit.

yes, very much. what the fuck is gange even doing on the roster when Tavarez isn't? Tavarez has been solid this year, and you simply can not put Gange into a game where the scores are both the same number of digits and expect to win.

If any of the Songs From the Black Hole make it on here, it would be incredible. I've had the demos for years, but to hear them professionally mixed (as I'd hoped a formally released album would be).... AMAZING.

Being a massive weezer fan who owns a ridiculous amount of useless merch, side projects, alternate versions of cds and has nearly 2500 demos/bootlegs/alternative versions etc etc of weezer or weezer related projects, i don't think there will be much I haven't heard, but goddamn! i am looking forward to this.

Since everyone else is rating their albums I guess I may as well...

I'm with ya'. I'd knock Maladroit up a whole point if they had put the radio mix of "Keep Fishin'" on there, that one was far superior.

I could never get into this band/dude...from being back in high school and hearing that sweater song to hash pipe a few years ago. although, "el scorcho" and the buddy holly or whatever its called video are great!
