Legendary former Smiths guitarist and current Modest Mouse member Johnny Marr has been named "Visiting Professor" at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK. He will be delivering a series of workshops and masterclasses to students on the BA Popular Music and Recording degree at Salford.

Marr performed with the Smiths at the university nearly 21 years ago in one of the band's last live performances. You can check out the original release here.
