Finch back together for a show this November

San Diego's Finch have announced a reunion show. The band will convene for a gig at the Glass House in Pomona, CA on November 23, 2007. There's no word yet on whether this is a one-off show or a sign of a wider return to action.

The band announced an "indefinite break" last year. They released Say Hello to Sunshine in 2005 and What It Is to Burn in 2002.

Even though Say Hello to Sunshine wasn't amazing by an stretch of the imagination, it was a vast improvement over the glassjaw-aping garbage that was What it is to Burn. I guess they're better at aping Mike Patton.

What It Is To Burn brings back memories of 7th grade. Finch was my first show that same year.

I'd compare them to more of a Glassjaw rip off. Either way, they were never very original.

loved both albums, seriously. never got to see them live, which is a shame, and it really pissed me off that it took what, 3-4 years to put out sunshine? it seemed to me, that these guys got really fat egos, really quickly.

typical case of a tiny band that hasnt been together long, getting signed to a large indie label, and having trouble with their sophomore album.

what it is to burn, brilliant compilation of all their best songs.
took them three more years to come up with another albums worth of original material, and it still was very very poor, in my opinion.

one of the most insane live shows ive been to though

Say Hello to Sunshine is one of the genre's best...lots of different timing structures and good build ups. That CD holds up much better than What it is to Burn and is something I will still listen to regularly

SHTS should have been marketed more towards the metal crowd than the emo/punk crowd. That being said, the album is an underappreciated gem and I hope they take the time to flesh out a full tour and find their way back on to an indie who gives the freedom to make the music they please w/o the pressure of monetary returns.

i'm surprised how many people on here like this band... even What It Is To Burn was crap. maybe its nostalgic for some of you who were in high school when that album came out, i dont know

yea i mean i was in 11th and 12th grade when drive-thru was huuuuge back in 2001-2002.. and it sounded good back then.. but listen to those cds now. they werent that good. they bring back memories, but thats about it

One of the worst live bands I've ever seen. It was just off-key yelling, hamfisted chords and that familiar B.O. stench. This is on multiple occassions years apart, by the way.

I wonder if the band saw that Glassjaw was playing some shows in Southern California this coming week and figured "hey we might as well do that too"! It worked for them when they wrote their music.
