Immortal Records ceases operations

Immortal Records, home to 30 Seconds To Mars, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, thebleedingalarm and Brazil, has ceased operations according to a band signed to the label.

The label was founded by Happy Walters in 1994. The owners have yet to make any sort of public statement.

Wow, talk about a shaky source -- an unknown band's myspace blog. I'm absolutely shocked you guys posted this without getting confirmation (or more likely, denial) from someone who actually works there.

I know you guys are really good about checking sources and confirming stories (punks gossip like old hens after all), and that's one of the many things I love about this site, but sometimes something sounds so good you wish and wish and wish with all your heart for it to be true. This is such a moment for me.

If Victory ever goes under, I'll probably fill the cup right then and there.

They were originally on V2, which then dropped all of its artists. They're on Epic now.

I talked with Happy, the owner on the phone, yesterday.

He was adamant that they weren't folding.

I think they are just cutting back on the music department and going into movies. I know they have put out some big soundtracks like The Crow.

Yeah, he wasn't too "happy" with me posting about that, and other things.
