New Danko Jones full length due in 2008

Danko Jones will release their new album in early 2008. The record is titled Never Too Loud and is due out March 18, 2008. It will be released in Europe via Bad Taste at the end of February.

The band recorded the 11-song disc over two months at Los Angeles' Studio 606 with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Marilyn Manson). John Garcia (Kyuss) appears on the album, and Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool) adds vocals to "Forest For The Trees." A North American single will be selected soon.

while i never bought an album of theirs, i always did like the songs i heard by danko jones. so...let's hope this band doesn't fizzle out and die just yet.

On the list of things Danko Jones is "never too...", I would say:
Impressive, good, inspired, original, noteworthy, fun and enjoyable.
I'd venture to say they're always too loud as long as they're audible.

Hmmm. Presuming that this is an insult based on the albums I've reviewed for this site, then you failed on two points:

1. I gave that Norma Jean album 5 out of 10. It's not very good.

2. Enjoying one style of music doesn't mean I can't enjoy any others.

It's too bad so many people are so stuck up that they can't enjoy fun music like this.

Yeah, you're right. People only sang about doing it with girls in the early 80's, and never at any other point in rock'n'roll history. Why do I always forget that?

No, but lyrics that generic and uninspired are a waste in general. It belongs along side The Darkness and high pitched screams of "WWWWOOOOOOMMMMMAAAAAANNNNN!!!"
It's corny, and cheesy without being fun. The whole album just felt awkward.
But yeah, fucking rock n' roll history right there homie.

True but if it's not good in the lyrical content it better have the musicianship to make up for it (especially with a ballsy title like "we sweat blood") and they don't. It's a very boring album with embarrassing lyrics. Not sure what there is to defend.

I guess singing about fucking girls shouldn't have anything to do with rock and roll anymore?

We sweat blood and born a lion are solid rock and roll albums and his last two have sprinkles of goodness on them. The new track doesn't sound so swell/raw as the older material - but I'm sure itl sound better than the hellacopters last attempt.

Danko is one of the best "rock" bands that I listen to. Sleep is the Enemy was almost my record of the year last year, so I have high expectations for this.

Looking forward to this album. Not sure how much I'm loving "code of the road" but Danko has never let me down in the past. They put on a great live show too.
