Death By Stereo start recording new record

Death By Stereo has apparently begun the recording of their followup to 2005's Death For Life. The recording will not feature drummer Jarrod Alexander or bassist Paul Miner, as previously thought.

That's because Reignition used to be "Law Of Inertia Records". Law Of Inertia used to include free goodies with their magazine, typically comps but they worked with Death By Stereo to put out the CD exclusively through the magazine. I still have a magazine version of the CD that was out more than a year before the store release on Reignition.

Until any official announcement, Death By Stereo are still on epitaph. Personally, i think they would be better on Ferret but that's just me...

Their contract was fulfilled with the last studio album. Hence, they are no longer on Epitaph.

I would love to sit down with Mr Brett and let him tell me why Epitaph is better off and more profitable releasing bands like Iam Ghost and Vanna rather than Death by Stereo. Oh ya, their newyears eve show in Calgary was one of the best shows ive been to in the last few years.

Did they drop Death By Stereo?? Not to my knowledge. They released something on another label. Their last real full length was on Epitaph.

Epitaph usually signs short (2 or 3 record) deals with most of its artists, or at least that's how they operated several years ago. This makes it very easy to stop putting out a band's records whenever either party decides it's time. (I daresay some of Epitaph's past bands probably haven't minded moving on in light of what the label has become.)

I did an hung out with Efrem, Chris and Dan and did an interview with them before they played the New Years Eve show in Calgary. It's going to be airing Monday, Jan 14th at 1PM MST / 3 PM EST on www.punkradiocast.com

Efrem announces an interesting side project that includes another member of D.B.S. and some other dudes from the Cali-Punk scene. We also talk about their upcoming album among other things.
I'll be doing up a news release giving some more details - look for it on this site in the next few days.

Jarrod and Paul were absent on the last album and it was actually quite possibly their best one! i DO worry about them being down to one guitar though...

Anyone know what happened to Jim Miner? He supposedly returned to write and record but i haven't heard anything since!
