Sirius plans five day "Greatest Punk Songs" special

Sirius Satellite Radio has unveiled plans for a special five day punk special. According to the press release, the five days will feature "the greatest punk bands of all time playing the greatest punk songs of all time."

Participants confirmed for the event include The Sex Pistols, The Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, The Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, Henry Rollins, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys and more. Along with the music, the band members will be discussing the music and behind-the-scenes details for the tracks selected.

The entire thing kicks off Monday January 28th beginning at 7 am ET through Friday February 1.

The trailers are out, it's in the can...editing takes a long time and it's set for release. We should see it this summer as scheduled.

They finished shooting, and they couldn't modify the script even if they wanted to due to the WGA strike. It will probably affect the third movie since the rumor was that the Joker was to appear in it as well.

The only two sources are TMZ (gossip) and Wikipedia (user-contributed), so I don't know if I believe it either. No major news outlet has covered it yet.

He was fucking amazing as jackass/late 70's-early 80's Bob Dylan in I'm Not There.

I'm still fuming that the movie was not nominated for a SINGLE oscar. It's beyond spectacular. I saw it 3 times in theaters! I hate seeing movies more than once in a two week period!

He and his wife split up a while ago.

It could easily have been an accident. It's been reported that he had substance abuse problems in the past, though people said they thought he'd been clean for the last year or so. He was also very sick and had pneumonia. And the NY Times profile of him in November described how wired he was when filming and how he kept himself up thinking about the roles, that he took a sleeping pill, it had no affect and so he took another and slept for an hour before waking up and pacing, thinking about the movie some more.

It's really too bad. Ever since Monster's Ball, he'd really shown himself to be a promising actor.

His latest role was in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan — as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

This ought to be interesting. Ugh. Hopefully it's nothing like those pathetic Spin Magazine or Alternative Press "Greatest Punk...Lists". I have a feeling it is going to be like that though. A bunch a shit.

i was gonna say...i struggle to fill my 4 Gb ipod with songs i absolutely love...it's full right now, and that's about 2 days of music..good luck finding 5 days.

i suppose if old washed up band members are gonna talk about the songs, they could make it work...
