Warped has confirmed the routing for this summer's edition of the tour. As reported over the past few months, the tour will boast a variety of acts including The Academy Is…, Against Me!, The Bronx, GBH, Dr.Manhattan, The Higher, Pennywise, The Vandals, The Color Fred, Broadway Calls, The Briggs and many more.
I don't know.... the only band worth seeing on that lineup is Iggy Pop and the Stooges. Asides form that, I'd say maybe on the Black Keys. But it looks like it's going to be Banaroo.
They hardly played anything past Midnight Madness and Beyond during that tour.
You got all the classics that night, and then some.
Perhaps you saw them towards the end of the tour (I have no idea where you were/are located). I've been going to see GBH since 86-ish, and they have always started off GREAT, and ended good. They get tired I suppose. Burnt out maybe. Fucking terrible? C'mon. Those are some harsh words reserved for those girly "pop punk" bands like New Found Glory. To each their own though..For now
Oh man... I guess I will be going with Against Me!, Bouncing Souls, the Bronx, the Vandals, Street Dogs, Reel Big Fish, the Briggs, and Pennywise if they are playing. Starting to check out Broadway Calls and Beat Union. They're alright.
Holy crap. I couldn't stand even them last year. NOTHING good. I'm trying really hard to think of some redeeming factor about last years tour... mc chris. That's it.
What pisses me off about this tour is that somehow I got talked into going last year and even though I plan on not going this year, I'll probably get talked into it again somehow. I wish they would just put an age limit of 24 years on it - that would really save me the frustration.
I've been twice in the last few years, and here's my interpretation:
It used to be fun late 90s pop/skate punk. Instead of staying with newer big name punk bands, they started headlining the Used and Thrice instead. This makes me say 'meh'
honestly, there is still usually enough good bands for me to be interested in going. i mean if corporate sponsorship REALLY pisses you off, then dont bother, toherwise, it can still be fun.
California has nearly 3 times as many dates as there are in the South (not counting Florida). I guess us dumb yokels just can't appreciate fine artists like Gym Class Heroes and Reliant K.
Seriously, would it fucking kill them to book more than three lousy shows in the South? I'd consider going to their increasingly terrible festival if the closest date wasn't 4 hours away.
the southern usa is one of he worst markets in the world. the warped tour would be better off in latvia, lithuania and estonia. at least those kids by merch and appreciate bands. fucking move or shut the fuck up.
hmmm, so we have Against Me!, Pennywise , Reel Big Fish, Street Dogs ,The Vandals still not quite enough to justify the ticket price but we'll see. A couple more and i'll think about it ( a certain newly reunited legendary skacore band perhaps?)
actaully if you think about it it would be atleast 50 dollars to see all those bands seperate... even though you have to deal with the half hour sets and shitty kids, it is cheaper.
i hear this year's Vans Warped Tour's 'going green'
well i guess they heard that money grows on trees
hope they ship those shitty bands overseas - like they did the factories!
Eventhough I'm lazy, fat, and hairy, I was dissapointed last year when my date of warped was held inside. I hate the sun, but it didn't feel the same. Also ladies wear skimpy stuff when it's hot out.
I say it every year that this is the worst year ever and end up finding out some good bands but this could be the year where that really dosent happen. Unless there is some more good bands added then this really is looking like the shits
i'm 24 and after a shitty breakup went from 180 to 166 pounds. i've stopped losing weight but i am still a little flabby. how can i harden up my mid section. crunches seem to be working only real slow and really it's not that much. i drink a lot of beer. is my only option to quit all the booze. i do lots of running. 4 miles 5 times a week. any suggestions on how to stop this plateau i've hit and get a little more hard/lean?
i can't believe people are excited to see pennywise. I didnt know people on here wore stars and straps, black volcom socks, black shades, and bandanas in their jean pockets.
There was a time when I would have said: "NEW ORLEANS! SCREWED AGAIN!", but given the line-up for this year (and really the past 3 years), I could care less.
Wake me up when THE FEST becomes a national tour event.
Are these all the bands? If so, it looks very weak!!!! And I don't want to see Pennywise again!!!! They're sooo boring! Add Alkaline Trio, Strung Out, and Protest The Hero and I'm there!!
this is definetly better then last years suck fest of bands. the lineup so far looks fairly decent. as long as pennywise and the souls come to fucking Boston.
So, i was discussing how ridiculously bad the lineup is this year (last years was pretty good) and we started talking about other Lyman stuff and came up with a question.
1) Last year's line-up was a complete shitfest. There were, what, 2 good bands? It's only January, and there are already like 6 good bands announced this year, and they're gonna announce another 400 in the next few months anyway. Even if the next 400 are Fall Out Boy playing tribute sets, it'll still be better than the complete shit that was 2007.
2) Who gives a shit about Warcon! ... and probably not.
3) 2005 was the actual fucking worst line-up.... ever.
I used to be sad that the warped tour didn't come to UK, now i'm just glad. Would be cool to get another Deconstruction tour though. I went to the outdoor one in Finsbury park a few years back. T'was incredible. Anyone remember it?
lol what the hell are Norma Jean and Everytime I Die doing on this. When Warped Tour had skate ramps and shit it was alright. But will never go again. After high school people should stop going to this I'd say.
Against Me and The Bouncing Souls should tell Kevin to take his Tour and shove it up his ass, then leave and have a co-headlining tour with The Bronx and Street Dogs as they're support. This tour has become a thing that ONLY Scenesters should waste they're money on.
please cancel the minneapolis date.
thanks.
