Gaslight Anthem delay EP

Gaslight Anthem's new EP, Señor and the Queen, which was supposed to be released today, has been pushed back to February 12th. Sabot Productions, who is releasing the EP, credits the delay to packaging problems. However, the label has begun taking pre-orders for the four song CD/2x7" (on red and black vinyl), which should be shipping on or around the official release date.

Gaslight Anthem released Sink or Swim to much acclaim in 2007.

Considering it was "packaging problems" and not "recording problems", and the fact that the whole EP was played a few days ago on some internet radio, I have no idea why you can't find the leak.

That said, don't be a turd, and buy the damn thing.

I still don't see what everyone likes about this band...I find it to be slow and clunky. I like the bands they tour with, I like the general sound, I just don't get find them compelling. Does it require repeat listens? Do I have to see them live to get it? I'm looking for a way to understand, please help.

It definitely takes repeat listens. I didn't think it was that great when I first heard it, but for some reason I kept going back to listen again. Then one day, I just thought "This is fucking good" and haven't taken the cd out of my car.

does everything really require an explanation? I can't explain why I love Gaslight, I just do.

I love Brian's vocals for one.

I mean, I don't like Against Me! and never understood what the appeal of them was to some, but I never questioned it.

so what if you don't like something other people seem to. It shouldn't bother you or make you wonder why people like it.

I'm not questioning the appeal, I just wondered if there was something I didn't pick up from hearing the album once. I didn't like Losing Streak the first couple of times through, but I finally got the bid idea and now I really like it.

Maybe the lyrics are especially poignant, there's some guitar work that got mixed down that I might not have heard, or the have an explosive live show or something (they're coming to town soon, so if that were the case I'd be sure to go).

thought they sounded kind of like a one trick pony until about 5 listens...love the album now though and completely retract that sentiment

The first listen was compelling enough that I wanted to listen to it again right away, and it just got better each time. If it doesn't grab you, then maybe it's just not your kind of music.

I actually liked it quite a bit initially but sometimes it bothers me...the lyrics can be a bit precocious (with the Seniorita's and dancing and over-the-top romanticism) and in some parts for some reason it reminds me of The Killers which sours me....but overall good band/cd despite a few complaints. Looking forward to seeing them at the Middle East with the Loved One's (another band I like but think is over-rated), The Ergs & Lagrecia

i AM glad to see i'm not the only person on here that isn't in to these guys. I don't think they're half bad, actually, just can't seem to get into them (i think it might be the vocalist...somethin about his voice just doesn't do it for me)

My local "indie" store (whose selection is beginning to look more and more like that of Best Buy, giving me little reasons to continue shopping there) informed me they won't be carrying this. They said they could order it. No thanks. I'm fully capable of ordering it myself when it comes to that, I just like the experience/convience of just walking in the store and buying it. I've never understood why people order from record stores. If it's not in stock and you have to order it anyway, it's cheaper just to do it yourself.

real tough call. they are all really great songs. i am right now most stoked on the blue jeans and white t-shirts, but then again i have heard the other songs live quite a few times. Hearing them recorded is a bit less exciting then hearing the slow jam for the first time.

It took until i heard "The Navesink Banks" for me to really "get" GA and I'm hooked. They've got that gruff Larry Arms/ HWM/ Latterman feel that I dig.
