Pluto Records has signed Philadelphia's Spark Is A Diamond. The label describes the band as fusing punk, hardcore and "heavy dance beats" into a "style somewhere between Refused and Death From Above 1979." The three piece, formed in 2006, features vocalist Alison Bellavance, guitarist/vocalist Matt Boylan, and drummer Joe Crawford.
The band has completed recording their debut full-length with producer Paul Leavitt (Circa Survive, The Bled). The album, titled Try This On For Size, will soon be mixed by Matt Bayles (The Blood Brothers, Mastodon) and released in May. It follows up an EP released on Emerald Moon Records.

Um. This sounds like Fall River played over some dance tunes, interesting but don't know if I would want to listen to a whole album. . . . 1+ Reply
