He's got the punk vote, he's got the hip-hop vote... now if only techno-metal fusion band would endorse his candidacy he'd win the nomination for sure. 1+ Reply

Having the youth vote is important. Every candidate needs a huge pool of supporters who won't vote. 2+ Replies

Pete Wentz clearly helped him win Illinois. We'll see if Bright Eyes and company can help him win Nebraska. 14+ Replies

At first I thought 'Jim Ward' read as 'Jim Jones' and I was like "Dipset's in the building!"

Fuck John Mccain. War for 10 more years. YES! Goddamn I want Obama to win this shit.

I get the idea that thinking punks are mostly Greens and Libertarians (as are thinking people in general) Obama is likable, but far from a competent Candidate for President. I'm still holding out hope for Ron Paul. 6+ Replies

obama is the best mainstream candidate, but thats not saying much. his policies are still too moderate for any real change. dennis kucinich is the real deal. 1+ Reply

Does anyone know what this guy actually stands for? Everytime I hear him talk, he speaks in vague concepts rather than actual policy positions. And am I the only one that realizes that Iraq is far from being one of the most important issues affecting this country? You never hear a peep from this guy about our declining industrial might or the fact that we are outsourcing both our middle class and our production capabilities to an authoritarian communist country that will likely be our biggest threat twenty years from now. Though I'm all on the side of liberal social policies, the impact of soft issues like gay marriage, abortion rights, and healthcare pale in comparison to the importance of maintaining a thriving middle class and our ability to produce strategically important hard goods like steel, textiles, food, autos, and industrial equipment. show rest of comment 11+ Replies

You know what else is cool about Obama? He smokes. Smokers have been getting a raw deal and are treated like lepers these days. 5+ Replies

I just got back from this...Jim ward was awesome. Secret life was really good and Bright Eyes was amazing. M.Ward played his set in the middle of BE's set and they also had a guy from My Morning Jacket (sorry not too familiar with them) played a few songs as well. The Slowdown is a fucking awesome venue. To top it off, it was all free and I got to see Obama speak earlier in the day. It was fucking electric. 1+ Reply
