Flipper to play for DVD release; DVD details announced

San Francisco, CA's Flipper will be playing a free all ages show at Amoeba Music in San Francisco, CA in celebration of the release of their upcoming DVD, Flipper - Live Target Video 1980-81. The shindig will go down on Monday, February 18th at 6pm and will feature a meet 'n greet and possible DVD signing after the show.

The band has also been working on a new album with former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. It's the first new material for the band in fifteen years.

ok, I recently have been buying alot of vinyl.....decided to start collecting and shit....but I don't have a record player....what's everyones opinion...should I go to like best buy and buy a brand new sony record player for about 120 bucks or can you find a quality used one or something from a pawn shop???? IDEAS??

I'd spend the money on a new one. Not only are you getting a better quality player, but it will come with a new needle. Otherwise you'd be spending extra on a new needle most likely anyway.

If you're in it for collecting, get a new one. Specifically a USB one that you can hook up to your computer. That way you can listen to a record, rip the songs to your pooter, and then hide it away for safe keeping.

I just pre-ordered this from Amazon last night, can't wait to get it. I'm super, super happy that it's not just a TV broadcast that's been floating around on soulseek for awhile. I mean, that is fucking awesome don't get me wrong, but it's better for all involved that it's unseen stuff.

You can get a new one with a USB port so you can put the songs on your computer for about 100 bucks. I would do that if I could.

I already do that. I have a Numark TTUSB Turntable. I upgraded the cartridge on it to a Numark Carl Cox model (a very heavy-duty needle and great sounding cart). Half the time, I hook it up to my iPod speakers and just play the records.
