Our pals over at Alternative Press have premiered the first song from Pennywise has titled their upcoming record Reason To Believe. You can stream "Something To Live For" at the AP media page.
The full length is due on on March 25, 2008 via MySpace Records. It follows up the band's final release for longtime label Epitaph, 2005's The Fuse. We posted the cover art a few weeks ago. As previously announced, aside from traditional CD and vinyl editions, the label is offering up the entire album as a free digital download via a Textango promotion. Anyone who adds Textango's profile as a friend on the social networking site MySpace will get access to the songs. MySpace Records (95 comments)

Yet again, another effort from pennywise that sounds nothing more than a crackwhore knockoff of Against the Grain. 3+ Replies

I don't care if these guys are pushing 50, they still fucking rock. This song is killer.

After I listened to the stream, I was listening to some of the other songs on the AP page (mostly garbage). It reminded me that for all the hype they get, I think Big D is REALLY overrated. It's not bad, just mediocre. Their live show didn't do much for me either. 1+ Reply

yeah their fans are kinda funny and misguided but let's be honest... your average .orger is a dork and against me were never that good. the stereotypes available to the outside world are just as condemning. 2+ Replies

One of the few bands that has remained constant since I got into punk rock, Pennywise is as harsh, fast, and smart as they've ever been. 1+ Reply

I'm still happy with Pennywise being Pennywise. And this is undeniably Pennywise. 2+ Replies

Yeah, it sounds similar to every song from them... but let me say, its a pretty damn good song.. much better thatn what i expected since The Fuse sucked.
VictorIkpeba24 (February 15, 2008)
They should have called this "Something for orgers to make fun of".
karmabad (February 15, 2008)
honestly, they're first 2 albums are punk classics...like them or not.
smash_it_up (February 15, 2008)
I think it sounds kinda like something from the Straight Ahead/LOTF-era, certainly better than the fuse. Until the singing starts. Just like on New Maps Of Hell you can hear how the old epitaph crew is getting old. Not much of a dissapointment though. | Features
