Additionally, the band have begun recording new, collaborative material with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr in Manchester. Bassist Gary Jarman and Marr, both currently residing in Portland, OR, met at a party, became fast friends and ultimately decided to write, record and perform together. Thus far the sessions have yielded so many songs that it has yet to be decided whether the recordings will result in an EP or a full album. Jarman described working with Marr as a "dream" and revealed that the possibility of Marr taking a break from playing with Modest Mouse and joining The Cribs as a fourth member could become a reality.

On March 04, 2008 The Cribs will be releasing their new digital-only EP. It will include the
original album version of "I'm a Realist," as well as a new version of the
track remixed by the band's friends The Postal Service. Two new recordings -
"Don't You Wanna Be Relevant" and "Kind Words From the Broken Hearted" -
have been unavailable in the U.S. until now. The fifth track is a live video
for "Our Bovine Public" taken from the album

It makes me sad that The Postal Service would work with these guys. As well as Johnny Marr. Eeurgh. What a terrible band. |
