When it comes to our new album we are as anxious as you are to have it released. It's been a slow process to get the album mixed and we sure wish things had gone faster, but now things are really moving forward. We have most of the album mixed and it sounds amazing! We want to thank you all for waiting so patiently and you will be rewarded with the best album we have ever done by far. And soon, very soon, we hope to post some exclusive pre-release tracks on-line.The album will be due out later this year on American Recordings. They previously raised a stink when they signed to that label, probably because they're Swedish, and Swedes technically aren't Americans. The band released Armed Love through that label in 2005 and Alternative Tentacles re-issued Live at Oslo Jazz Festival last year.
Sweden's answer to Barry Manilow, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, have scrounged up some details about their upcoming album The Cross of My Calling, produced by Columbia head, Def Jam co-founder, and superproducer Rick Rubin. The band had this to say:

yuch, bad title. I kinda warmed to Armed Love though so I guess I'll check this out.

These guys are starting to suck anyways...although they are not nearly as bad as the Lost Patrol Band...that is complete shit

Cool album title. I wonder if they got it from Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" where he says "I was wearing the cross of my calling". Either way, great album title.

I hope they are more anxious than I am because I feel it'll probably be a good album to miss. Refused was the shit though. Lost patrol, yikes.

I'm looking forward to this. I liked Armed Love alright when I first got it, but haven't listened to it in years, I'll have to check it out again. I'm most excited about the fact that a new album means an upcoming U.S. tour. They ALWAYS put on a great show!

i'll be interested to hear some of those pre-release tracks. i've only ever heard a few of their older songs, which i enjoy. from what i've heard, they changed quite a bit with their last release, but i never heard any songs from it. hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise.

It's about time they post something on the new album, I am very anxious to hear this!

Their older albums (The First Conspiracy, Survival Sickness, A New Morning Changing Weather) are great. Armed Love was not their best, but it was still worth a listen (especially the bonus track, 'Guns for Everyone'). Their style has changed quite a few times and I'm sure this new album will be no different. I for one LIKE going to a show and hearing a band talk about capitalism - or just having a political perspective in general. Good music often times has an important message, whether or not some people are reluctant to hear it. | Features
