Media: Pennywise: "The Western World"

Pennywise has a free download from their upcoming record Reason To Believe. The album will be released by Epitaph in Europe while MySpace Records will handle the US release on March 25, 2008.

As previously announced MySpace Records will offer up the album as a free digital download via a Textango promotion. Anyone who adds Textango's profile as a friend on the social networking site MySpace will get access to the songs.

I like it. I like Pennywise's slower songs, and I like that they only do a few here and there. The other track from the album that was posted through AMP was pretty rocking.
My complaint is that Pennywise has had terrible studio sound on every album after Straight Ahead (which had their best studio sound). Musically, I like just about everything Pennywise does (except Land of the Free). People bitch that they keep writing the same album. But there are definitely variations, and I'd rather hear more of the same stuff I like, than a band just take on a new sound and suck at it, like most do.

if i found a golden lamp wish three would involve ridding the world of several bands...and their fans. Pennywise would be on the list.

I wouldn't pick Pennywise if I could only pick 3. 1. Dave Matthews 2. The Dead 3. Nickelback.

Those fans need to be extinguished first.

Ok, this is one of the best songs Pennywise has ever written... I've been growing out of punk a lot lately, and wasn't expecting the new Pennywise to really impress me... But wow.... Just, wow...

sorry but the latest BR album didnt do it for me. empire was great, but i couldnt get into new maps.

Sorry I was a dickhead about that. You're all right. I think it was the oy that did it for me. I was thinking "what the fuck is this guy talking about".

I did like New Maps a little better than Empire overall, although Empire did have a few really great songs.

Pennywise have always tried to rip off Bad Religion. But then again I can't complain 'cause I love me some Bad Religion. Sometimes Pennywise even pulls it off... like this song.

great song. i love pennywise, always have, always will, no matter if some of their songs sound rehashed or not. i cannot wait for the album to come out.

I really liked the 2 songs they've released so far. This album is going to be way better than the fuse, which wasn't good at all to me .

I thought it was decent when it came out, but it's really have a very low re-play value as time has gone on.

I hate to say it, but the best album was Pennywise. At least in terms of the songs, obviously not the production.

I haven't given them money since 'about time' came out. They were fun for driving to the beach to go surfing, I just figured there was no reason to keep paying for the same record. But I don't mind the first 3.

Now I think about it, that was a terrible song. It has the same "tired, going through the motions" vibe that the last few records have had. New Maps Of Hell had the same vibe too.

Pennywise is a great band. Thier style will always be appreciated. For all the haters, perhaps you should pay some respect. I seriously doubt any of these newer bands you all rant and rave about will make it to over 15 years and sell as many records as Pennywise. They have nothing to prove to any of you. They've done it all and still havent lost thier edge. Something a lot of punk these days is missing. Just dont hate.
