Constantines and Feist to release limited edition 7"

Toronto post-punks the Constantines and critical darling songstress Feist have recorded a cover duet for an upcoming 7" to be released by Arts & Crafts. The Canadian artists are tackling the Bee Gees' "Islands In The Stream," particulary the version made famous as a duet between Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. The b-side of the release will feature the new Cons track "Trans Canada" from their forthcoming full-length Kensington Heights. Jeff McMurrich, producer of the new Cons record, also recorded the new cover.

Kensington Heights will hit stores on April 15th.

She's not bad. Kinda of xcoffeexhousexcorex, but she's got a good voice, and it works when you feel like being mellow and your Astrud Gilberto LPs are worn out at the grooves.

good call on the astrud, helena noguerra (though belgian) is also way worth checking out for that bossa nova groove

I don't know if there's anyone better than Astrud for sitting out on the porch in the summer drinking beer and tea. It was like it was made for that shit.

Nice cover art. Another cool animal photo (of a bear, no less) with simple colours and a bold font. I wish the full-length had a similar motif.
