Whole Wheat Bread to perform at Coachella with Murs

Jacksonville, Florida's Whole Wheat Bread have announced that they will perform at Coachella in Indio, CA with rapper Murs on Sunday, April 27th at 9 pm. Other acts slated to perform include Prince, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Gogol Bordello, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Black Lips, and many more.

The band recently completed work on their new album The Hearts of Hoodlums which is expected to drop in August. The previously posted two new songs to their MySpace page.

Murs is a great lyricist, but unless he's rapping over a 9th Wonder beat, I'm generally not feeling his music, especially on that last crew-type CD he put out. There was a whole shitload of chessy, garbage beats on that one.

No, but I probably should. I'm just horribly biased against listening to Slug. I'm far from an Atmosphere fan, and I hate the attitude that most of their fans seem to have that, because they're the first hip-hop group said fans have ever liked, that hip-hop began with them. Total dickhead stance, I know. Maybe I will check out that Felt shit.

I saw Bright Eyes, M. Ward, and Jim Ward (At-the Drive-in) in Omaha for free in basically the same scenario. Although no one asked for money. I just had to register to vote and I got two free tickets. Not a bad deal and it was a fantastic show.

I saw Murs at Coachella a couple years back...Holy shit his set killed it. Be played a ton of stuff off "Murs 3:16" but it was the best when Slug came out and they closed with "Early Morning Tony". Such a dope set.
