Pete Koller, Civ, Vinnie Stigma, and more NYHC legends in Inked Magazine

Popular tattoo periodical Inked Magazine has put together an extensive feature on some of New York City's most famous hardcore artists who discuss the early scene as well as their first tattoos. The five artists spotlighted include Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front, Madball), Jimmy Gestapo (Murphy's LawSick of It All), Civ (Gorilla Biscuits, Civ) and John Joseph (Cro-Mags, Bloodclot)

if you're using firefox, you can make it so that links programmed to open in a new window will open in a new tab instead. l2interweb

Civ's tattoo parlor is literally within walking distance from my house! I was so pissed when I found out because it was literally the day I left for college, and I haven't really been back since. Also, my mom said I'm kicked out of the house and don't get college money if I get a tattoo.

You know I've had friends tell me their parents said similar things. I really don't get that. Why are tattoos so offensive to some people? It's your body after all.

All my mom said when I got my first tattoo was "don't get one somewhere that will keep you from getting a good job."

Yeah, I don't get it either. I respect my mom, so if I ever get a tattoo its going to be after school, but it makes me a little angry that she can tell me things like that but gives my brother lectures when he says something that she views as intolerant.
