Seventh Rule signs Light Yourself On Fire

Chicago based Seventh Rule have signed Tampa, Florida's Light Yourself On Fire. The band describes their sound as "hardcore kids growing up in the death metal capital and being influenced by early 90's noise." The band will release their new album, Intimacy, in the fall of 2008, following up 2006's self-titled EP released by Kiss of Death. The album was produced by Mark Nikolich (Torche, Kylesa) and mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer, Nile).

Seriously, though, stop with the shit band names about lighting stuff on fire. Christ, only bad/emo/screamo/metalcore/whatever bands could make starting fires seem lame.

Sometimes I just wish I could sit some of these dudes down and tell them, "listen, I know you were the weird kid who set fires in the back of the classroom all the time, but that does not excuse lousy band names or double bass drums."

Or wearing women's jeans. Definitely not that. No excuse for that crap.
On a related note, I would be happy if I never had to hear another song about setting the city on fire or the city burning or whatever. Seriously, stop it. The only justifiable exception I can think of is Smoke or Fire's "California's Burning". That's a damn fine song.
