MDC, Leftöver Crack, WIZO, Oi Polloi and more on anti-homophobia comp

Gay Edge Liberation, a group formed in Germany to fight homophobia in the punk and hardcore scene released details about their upcoming compilation, the Rotten Schwuchtel Sampler. (Schwuchtel is German for "fag.")

The comp features 29 songs from a variety of bands including MDC, Leftöver Crack,the now defunct Fat Wreck Chords act WIZO, Oi Polloi,Black Fag, NeinNeinNein, Red Tape Parade and The Italian Stallion .

I have buttons that say "I hate Fred Phelps" with Phelps face crossed out. People seem to like those more than the compilation I put out.

I second that this is long over due and on so many levels. Leftover Crack, Oi Polloi and MDC are great punk bands and this is without a doubt a great reason to put out a comp.

I'm living in Germany now and just want to say that the word "Schwule" is also a word for used plane old gay. i wouldn't say it has the weight of the word "fag" and it's all relative anyway, people in England smoke fags every day...

it´s "schwuchtel" not "schwule".there´s a difference. "schwuchtel" has definitely the same weight as "fag".

regardless of the technical definitions, slurs like "fag" have such loaded and varying meanings to each person that to translate it into another language is pretty much the perfect example of how human beings may never fully be able to 100% communicate, when nuances, history, and indescribable subconscious interpretations are taken into account. but given the rest of the title, it'd make sense if it basically had the same meaning.

I work with two guys that have German Blood(Born American), and they are so fucking racist, republican, homophobes, telling me that I don't deserve to cash my rebate check because I don't support Bush, or that all gay people are going to hell, and that I'm must be gay since I have two gay roomates..... One of these guys(my co-worker) was stationed in Germany, and claims that there were no gays in Germany, and if there was, it wasn't spoken of because of how many skinheads there are.... I said that was bullshit, and I know there had to have been some gay nazis...

what do you think?

I don't have anything bad to say about German people, but I think the girls give great head.

That fucking blows, dude. I live in a place called Fredericksburg (in VA) and it's crawling with racist, homophobic pricks. At an old job I had this coworker who had the Confederate Battle Flag painted on her nails and when I asked her "why the fuck is that there?" She replied, "Cuz I hate n****rs!".

So, dude I know how irritating that shit can be.

And, yeah. There were some gay nazis. Especially in the early days of it. Ernst Roehm, the leader of the S.A., was gay.

I'm half German, and for some reason my dad's side of the family (including myself) love to eat sweet and salty things right after eachother. We'll eat a pickle with a piece of cake. If you have any German in you, do you do this also?
