Bad Religion's deluxe reissue of New Maps of Hell may not have hit stores yet, but that hasn't stopped talk about the inevitable follow up. At the recent Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, an interviewer put the question to bassist Jay Bentley and drummer Brooks Wackerman. With frontman Greg Graffin set to teach at UCLA from January through March, the band may next hit the studio in April or May of 2009, with an album ready for June. You can check the entire interviw at JATV.
The deluxe edition of New Maps hits stores on July 8th, and will feature original album bolstered with seven acoustic tracks and a DVD. Graffin and Brett Gurewitz recently chatted with Rolling Stone about the project and the future of the music industry. Graffin was also recently the recipient of the Rushdie Award for Cultural Humanism from Harvard University. Bad Religion (51 comments)

A record being made every two years just seems too early all of the sudden. 1+ Reply

whats with all the whining about two years being "too soon"? the Copyrights release an album every six months. if BR is saying June 2009, that probably means it wont come out till early 2010 anyway 5+ Replies

I chatted with my friends yesterday, and we agreed that even though we were stoked for the delux edition, we were also excited for the inevidable follow up. 3+ Replies

new maps of hell was alright but underwhelming. i'm interested in seeing what they can go with this next (last?) one.

They should take more time so their albums are better. Empire was sweet but New Maps sucked... Every song sounded the same. 12+ Replies

I actually think new maps was pretty sick... But process of belief was a good one.

For the next record I'm gonna wait for the deluxe version before buying it... I'm annoyed by this Deluxe edition of NMOH, I'd like to have it, but I refuse to buy twice the same album, it makes me feel like I'm a tool (I am one anyway, but at least I try not to give up all my dignity). | Features
