The Riot Before finish recording; set tentative release date

Quote Unquote act The Riot Before have wrapped up work on their new full length. The record is titled Fists Buried in Pockets and is set to be mastered next week:

We just finished hanging out in the studio for two weeks making our new record, "Fists Buried in Pockets." That's about 13 days longer than we're used to spending on a record. In a lot of ways this was great. It allowed us to experiment a bit and get things just right. Also, we got to use that effect Akon uses on Cory's voice.

At any rate, we're done now and we're all really happy with how things came out. Tentative release date is September 9.

Never heard these guys before. But the 'fans also liked' thing sounds like something I would totally dig. They are close to me, but I know nothing about them.

Go to Quote Unquote, Fall of the West Records or Say-Ten records. Use the google to find them. You lazy shit.

They remind me a bit of an older Against Me! with the slightly clearer vocals of Gaslight Anthem. They're stuff is amazing. My one complaint is that there are a few times where they do real slow songs back to back and it really cuts the pace. But a lot of their slow stuff, "Red Neck Ties", is amazing.

You can download their EP for free from Quote Unquote Records. Think of like a more melodic early Against Me!. As opposed to the more melodic newer Against Me! Also, everything I've ever read from/about them makes them sound super posi.

I heard and really liked that one song on The Fest Punk News compilation download thing. But I heard a few songs that were on their MySpace and it didn't click.

Possibly it was a real cruddy day, so I'll totally give these guys another shot. And also, someone recommend a CD of theirs for me to check out.
